Studies on copper(II) complexes of o-quinone monooximes. 4. Interaction between aquobis(1,2-naphthoquinone 1-oximato)copper(II) and lanthanide(III) ions. New heteropolynuclear complexes containing Cu II and Ln III

Abstract

By reacting aquobis(1,2-naphthoquinone 1-oximato)copper(II) [Cu(nqo) 2·H 2O] with lanthanide chlorides, new heteropolynuclear complexes containing both Cu II and Ln III (Ln III = La III, Nd III) were obtained. The compounds have been characterized by elemental and thermogravimetric analysis, electron microprobe analysis, and electronic and vibrational spectral data. A different Cu II complex, containing nqo ligands and ionic perchlorate but no lanthanide ions, was obtained by reaction of Cu(nqo) 2·H 2O with lanthanide perchlorates.
