Abstract
Blended cement is the finely divided product obtained by intimately mixing together preferably by intergrinding portland cement and one or more admixtures other than gipsum.Author used as admixtures such material (1) clay, (2) calcined clay, (3) silicious white clay, (4) diatomaceous earth, (5) kayohakudo, (6) volcanie ash and investigated on the strength of 1:3 dry mortars, 1:1:2 wet mortars and concretes of the blended cements.The conculsion obtained from this experiment are as following(1) With kayohakudo the best blended cement is made.(2) Admixture contains soluble silica the more is the better.(3) Admixture contains soluble alumina the more gives the better influence on the early strength specially compressive strength of the blended cement.(4) Admixture contains more soluble silica gives high bending strength blended cement.
