Abstract
Degradation of low density polyethylene (LDPE) concealed in soil for 32–37 years was examined. A high weight loss and a decrease in the molecular weight which is due to the oxidative degradation were observed. We added biodegradation inducing agents to LDPE to accelerate the biodegradation.
