Abstract

The venoms of Bitis arietans, Bitis gabonica and Causus rhombeatus possess enzymic activity towards tosylarginine methyl ester. These activities can be separated from the main proteolytic activities of the venoms by gel-filtration. B. arietans venom also has a relatively high acetyltyrosine ethyl esterase activity.
