Iodine monofluoride is a potential visible lasing medium doe to its ease of emission on IF(B -> X) transition in 450-750nm with favorable Frank-Condon factors. Nevertheless, the production of IF (B-3 Pi(6)) by a chemically-pumped process involving energy transfer hat scarcely been investigated([1-4]).
