Abstract
With the solution of local pollution problems, the academic community of the world has paid ever increasing attention to regional characteristics of environmental pollution and global deterioration of environmental quality. The Beijing-Tianjin-Bohai Bay area(BTB)in northern China constitutes a typical suite of natural environmental patterns involving mountains, plains and a coastal bay, covering a land area of approximately 34000 km~2 and an offshore area of 16000 km~2.
