Abstract

The reactions of mono- or di-2-chloroethylarylamines with cysteine or glutathione have been studied. The major products of reaction of the bifunctional mustards were bis-cysteinyl or bis-glutathione derivatives, although in the reaction between NN-di-2-chloroethylaniline and cysteine there was evidence that a cyclic sulphonium ion was formed initially.
