1. Condensation of secondary arylamines with paraldehyde gives a series of N-aryl substituted quinolines, 2. Eight quaternary N-arylquinolinium salts have been prepared and described, in which the N-aryl radical is phenyl, 0-tolyl, p-tolyl,α-napththyl, andβ-naphthyl.
