Abstract

This thesis focuses on the studies of N-heterocyclic carbnene (NHC)-coordinated main group element fragments and their low oxidation state chemistry. In addition to NHCs, other neutral ligands were utilized, such as carbodiphosphoranes (CDPs) and N-heterocyclic silylenes (NHSis), as well as anionic, N-donor ligands, diazabutadienes (DABs) and amidinates.
