Abstract

The AMADEUS collaboration is providing unique experimental information on the low-energy strong interaction between K− and nucleons exploiting the low momentum K− (pK ∼ 127 MeV/c) produced at the DAΦNE collider and using the KLOE detector as active target. The absorption of the K− in light nuclei (H, 4He, 9Be and 12C) are investigated and hyperon-pion/hyperon-nucleons, emitted in the final state, are reconstructed. In the present work the results obtained from the study of Λπ−, Ap and At correlated production will be presented.

Highlights

  • The antikaon-nucleon (KN) strong interaction potential is attractive in nuclear medium due to the existence of the A(1405) and the £(1385) (I=1) resonances in the energy region below the KN threshold

  • In phenomenological potential models [3, 4, 5, 6, 7] the A(1405) is interpreted as a pure KN bound state with a Binding Energy (BE) of about 27 MeV, in chiral models [8, 9, 10, 11, 12] two states emerge in the neighborhood of the A(1405) mass, the higher mass state is coupled to the KN channel leading to a weaker attraction

  • In K - induced reactions the non-resonant £ n production contribution has to be considered in order to extract information of the resonance properties
