Edema, hyperemia and increase in the secretion of mucus characterized all of these reactions. In these features, the reactions in the mucous membranes of the monkey were very similar to those which had been observed in the passively sensitized mucous membrane of the rectum in humans.2The present communication deals with allergic reactions occurring in the passively, locally sensitized mucous membranes of the ileum and colonin humans. These studies were made on two...Bibliography1. WALZERGRAYSTRAUSLIVINGSTON MIHWS: Studies in experimental hypersensitiveness in the Rhesus monkey. IV.
