Abstract
Since 1965, SEG has been a long-standing supporter of the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). The SEG Geoscience Center and its ISEF Subcommittee currently manages and facilitates this support, respectively. SEG gives special awards to outstanding high school science and engineering projects that display and use the principles of geophysics and earth science in accordance with the scientific method. Each year SEG awards US$3000 in cash, plaques, certificates, and TLE subscriptions to its winners. This year the 57th Intel ISEF was in Indianapolis, Indiana (USA) during 7–13 May 2006. The SEG judges were Chuck Meeder of Marathon Oil Company, Jeff Daniels of Ohio State University, Larry Braile of Purdue University, Harold Geller of George Mason University, Susan Henley of SEG, and me.
