Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly impacted higher education, including Malay Literature. This study explores students’ perceptions of online learning during the pandemic at a Malaysian university. Using a multifaceted research approach combining surveys and interviews, the study finds that online learning in Malay Literature has advantages such as flexibility and convenience, allowing students to learn from home and at their preferred schedules. However, challenges include limited face-to-face interaction and potential technological issues. Further research is needed to examine additional factors influencing the effectiveness and acceptance of online learning across disciplines and student populations. By addressing these areas and implementing evidence-based strategies, online education can be improved, enhancing its quality and inclusivity to better support students’ learning journeys.
