Abstract
Last spring semester, along with five other faculty and staff, we were approached by the new dean of the College of Arts and Sciences the University of Wisconsin-Stout campus about participating in a pilot bridge pro gram designed to help at risk students enter college and have a successful col lege experience. At the core of this pro gram would be a series of linked courses: English composition, basic writing, American national government, study skills, and an introductory sociology course.
