Abstract

Universitas Terbuka (UT) is a state university that implements open and distance higher education. Students must be able to apply independent learning. In this paper, the perspective on self-concept affects the independence of the students. With their independence, the students can adapt and eventually succeed in independent learning. This research was quantitative research with data collection using questionnaires and interviews. The population of the research was the students of the Law study program with face-to-face tutorial learning assistance services covering the UT Semarang area. After the research was conducted, the researcher found a positive correlation between the research variables to contribute theoretically and practically as additional references and information for students, teaching staff, managers, and the entire Universitas Terbuka academic community.
