Abstract

This paper is intended to investigate student satisfaction in an online learning setting at a vocational institution in Vietnam. It employed a simple statistical analysis from data collected via an online survey. The participants of the study included 110 students who are taking the Economics online course at the institution. Data of students’ perceptions of the online course orientation, course content and course mentoring were collected, followed by open-ended questions to investigate students’ opinions of the challenges they encountered, the suggestions they offered to improve their satisfaction of the course and their willingness to experience other online courses at the institution. The research results show that the level of student satisfaction with the Economic online course is quite high. In addition, challenges that hindered students from fully acquiring the knowledge delivered in the online course were explored, and specific recommendations were offered.
