Abstract

Abstract Annually, thousands of students leave their campuses for the world of work. What do students who are about to graduate look for in their first employment? Are university faculty aware of their students' interests? Do recruiters for businesses know what students seek in their first jobs? In an effort to begin to answer these questions, a study was conducted of senior business students in a university in the United States and a university in New Zealand. This cross-national survey of students, faculty, and corporate recruiters sought to determine what students felt was important and how the perceptions varied among the six groups.
