Abstract

The book "Student Movements in Latin America: Questions for their History, Present, and Future" by author Nicolás Dip, edited by CLACSO, is an important contribution to the study of fundamental issues for analyzing student activism in Latin America. The work significantly concentrates on providing a broad overview of student movements, tracing a historical journey marked by four major moments in Latin American student activity: Argentina's University Reform of 1918, the student movements of 1968, late 20th-century student protests and mobilizations in defense of public education, leading to contemporary student movements of the early decades of this century. The author engages in a debate on the main narratives surrounding a dual discourse on their new or non-identities.
