Abstract

A double crystal spectrometer for thermal neutrons has been used for a structural investigation of chromium carbide Cr3C2. The intensities calculated from the chromium and carbon positions given by WESTGREN are in disagreement with the measured intensities. The observed powder diffraction pattern of Cr3C2 could be fully explained with new carbon positions.
