Abstract

The basic fact from which we started our research is that human resources are an indispensable factor in the growth and development of all economic activities. Human resources in the Republic of Serbia have been constantly and turbulently changing in the last hundred years. The indicator of that fact is the latest population census, where the Republic of Serbia has lost five hundred thousand inhabitants in the past 5 years. The aim of the paper is to indicate the importance of demographic changes and their impact on the achievement of sustainable development goals. The results of the research show us devastating data, both the demographic picture and the excessive lag in achieving the goals of sustainable development. Such a situation was influenced by direct and indirect factors. The methods used in the work are: analysis, synthesis, statistical method and deduction method. The concluding considerations tell us that it is necessary to invest more in improving the conditions and work of the publishing house, as well as the active participation of all institutions in reducing demographic changes, in order to achieve the goals of sustainable development.
