Abstract

Viewing through a feminist political economy lens, this article analyzes the privatization playbook deployed by the Saskatchewan government to increase privatization in the long-term care sector and discusses its limited success. Diverting from analyses that focus on a single sector, we consider the relationships among long-term care homes, retirement homes and family care, and the many forms of privatization that aim to support markets and produce profit while increasing inequities of gender, race, class, location, age, and more.
