Abstract
The crystal structure of Pb 3 Ta 5 O 9 F 13 has been determined from single crystal X-ray data. The symmetry is orthorhombic (space group Amam ) with a = 22.48 A, b = 20.83 A, and c = 3.928 A. The structure is built up from slabs of ReO 3 structure type, cut parallel to (110) ReO 3 , and bands of PbO(red) structure type.
