Abstract

Beryllophosphate-H is a new zeolite (structure type code BPH) synthesized from a beryllophosphate gel containing sodium and potassium cations. The composition, determined from chemical and X-ray analyses, is K 7 Na 7 Be 14 P 14 O 56 . 20H 2 O. Synchrotron powder data, collected at HASYLAB, Hamburg, could be indexed on a hexagonal unit cell with a = 12.5815(4) and c = 12.4508(5) A. The structure was then solved by model building in the trigonal space group P321. Rietveld refinement of the framework model followed by difference Fourier syntheses permitted the location of Na + and K + cations, which are present as charge-balancing extra-framework species
