Abstract
In this paper, the glass formation, physical and chemical properties and structure of different kinds of chalcohalide glasses are reviewed. The experimental results of new chalcohalide glass systems, such as BiCl 3 KCl As 2S 3, HgI 2 As 2S As 2S 3, PbCl 2 Ag 2S As 2S 3 are reported. The glass-forming regularity of chalcohalide systems is introduced and a structural model for chalcohalide glasses is also proposed.
