Abstract

We present the results of theoretical studies of the structure of thermal radio emission from the Earth's atmosphere in the middle part of the submillimeter wavelength range (wave numbers 1/λ≈ 20–50 cm-1). Absorption spectra of the atmosphere, heights at which the radiation is formed, and other physical factors, which determine the features of the inverse problems of remote sensing in the band considered, are analyzed.
