Abstract

1. With multipass welding of rotor steel 24Kh2NMFA granular bainite is formed in the HAZ. The matrix of the bainite is the α solid solution formed by martensitic kinetics; small areas of granular or elongated form evenly distributed in the matrix consist of martensite and retained austenite. 2. The nonequilibrium phase composition of bainite is responsible for the high hardness of the HAZ in steel 24Kh2NMFA heated during welding.
