Abstract
A new compound, nodolidate, has been isolated from the flowers of Cassia nodosa and characterized as (-)-7-acetoxy-9,10-dimethyl-1,5-octacosanolide. A mixture of fatty acids, hydrocarbons, campesterol and sitosterol along with ceryl alcohol were also isolated.
