Structure of barlericin, the neolignan diglycoside from Barleria acanthoides

Abstract

Barlericin, the new neolignan diglycoside, has been isolated from the n-butanol soluble sub-fraction of Barleria acanthoides along with dehydrodiconiferyl alcohol 12-O-β-d-glucopyranoside (2), reported for the first time from the genus Barleria. Their structures have been assigned on the basis of spectral studies.
