Abstract

The crystal structure of the enolic form of 1,3-diphenyl-1,3-propanedione consists of discrete molecules containing slightly asymmetric strong intramolecular hydrogen bonds. The molecule is almost identical to the dibenzoylmethane molecules in the stable and metastable crystal polymorphs determined previously. The crystal packing pattern is identicaly identical to that found in the metastable crystal form
