Abstract
The differential cross section for the 6Li(p, p′) 6Li ∗ (2.184 MeV) reaction was measured over a range of incident proton lab energies between 3.60 and 9.40 MeV. The analysis of a broad resonance indicates the presence of a 1.8 MeV broad state in 7Be at about 10.0 MeV excitation energy with the properties Jπ = 3 2 − or 5 2 −, with 7 2 − or 9 2 − being possible but less probable, and T = 1 2 .
