Abstract

The 40Ca(p, 3He) 38K reaction has been investigated at E p = 35 MeV. Angular distributions for levels in 38K with E x < 5.3MeV have been analysed in terms of a single-step zero-range DWBA with macroscopic as well as microscopic form factors. Besides J π information, this analysis provides two-nucleon spectroscopic factors. Comparison is made with results of a shell-model calculation. Similar information has been obtained for the first two levels of 38Ca by the 40Ca(p, t) 38Ca reaction observed simultaneously.
