In representatives of the genus Pyrrhocoris examined, the male and female genitalia are highly congruent and possess a number of structures providing firm fixation of copulating individuals, at the same time ensuring a quick release of partners when necessary. Mechanic prevention of interspecific hybridization is realized in sympatric species and absent in allopatric ones.
