Abstract

The article presents information on modeling the impact of economic and social network configurations on the speed of innovation. A simulation which used agent-based models to study the structure and dynamics of an innovation network is described. Variable parameters included the percentage of actors who could see all other actors and the percentage who were slow learners. The results of the simulation are discussed and it is noted that the usefulness of social structure was found to be higher for slow learning actors.
