Abstract

Development of ideas of liquid water structure since the end of the 19th century is briefly reviewed. According to the modern concepts based on experimental data and computer simulation, there is a three-dimensional hydrogen bond network in water. The structural and dynamic inhomogeneity of this network is analyzed in detail.
