The structure consists of an amide group linked to a p-chlorophenyl group and a 2,5-dihydrofuran-2-one ring. The compound is typical of a series of analogues synthesized in order to investigate their antibiotic activities in comparison with natural products [Valla, Giraud, Michailidis, Labia, Morand & Ginderow (1993).
