Abstract

Lead free piezoelectric ceramics (1-x)KNLN-xBCZT (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.015) are prepared using ultrasonic irradiation assisted solid state reaction process. The coexistence of orthorhombic and tetragonal phases is identified in the range of 0.008 ≤ x ≤ 0.013. The polymorphic orthorhombic-tetragonal phase transition temperature shifts towards room temperature with the increase of the BCZT concentration. Improved polarization and enhanced piezoelectric properties are obtained in 0.99KNLN-0.01BCZT ceramic at room temperature, which is attributed to the shift of their orthorhombic-tetragonal phase transition towards room temperature as well as the high density and high Pr value. These results indicate that 0.99KNLN-0.01BCZT ceramic is a promising lead-free piezoelectric material.
