Abstract
We describe the isolation and elucidation of three oligosaccharides other than lactose from the colostrum of three horses obtained by dialysis, and activated charcoal column and preparative paper chromatography. Five oligosaccharides, named HM-1-5 in order of the R F values were observed by paper chromatography. The chemical structure of three of these oligosaccharides was determined mainly by 13 C-n.m.r. spectroscopy and methylation analysis
