Abstract

In order to improve the ride of passive suspension system for the military vehicles in all kinds of roads, a new viscoelastic elastomer damper with one-way throttle valve structure was designed, and its working principle was set forth. A variable rigidity Maxwell fluid model was used to model viscoelastic elastomer damper, and the resistance formulae of elastomer damper in the input process and return process were conducted respectively, the shock experiment proved that the shock experiments proved the reliability of mathematical modeling. Finally, the dynamical performance tests about the continuous impact test, durability test and attenuation performance test were carried out on the elastomer damper, and the experimental results have shown that the elastomer damper has good impact resistance and stability performance.
