Abstract

This paper introduces the design of a child seat on a motorcycle along with its static and fatigue analyses. The design is equipped with an innovation in which a recliner mechanism is built in the seat so that the backrest can be adjusted either in an upright or tilted position. The analyses aim to ensure that the motorcycle child seat is safe and comfortable for the rider and child. The analyses are carried out on some components of the child seat, which are the backrest, body-seat, and clamping support. The child seat is designed with SolidWorks software and analyzed theoretically to find its safety factors. The safety factor of each component analyzed is good enough, which is in the range of 78 to 608. Therefore, it provides better safety because of the high safety factor and there are many spaces in terms of improving and developing a child safety seat on a motorcycle.
