Abstract

Change of detonation spraying parameters substantially affects the structure and tribological properties of coatings made from iron-based eutectic-alloy powders containing refractory inclusion phases. This change permits the application of dense, wear-resistant coatings on low-carbon steels. The tribological properties of the friction pair, detonation eutectic coating versus U8 steel, are improved by changing the micromechanical properties of the coating structural constituents.
