Abstract

1. Thermal cyclic treatment with subsequent annealing may produce a polygonized or a comparatively fine grained recrystallized structure in VT22 alloy. 2. An increase in the number of cycles in thermal cyclic treatment, a decrease in the rate of intermediate cooling, and an increase in the length of the subsequent anneal promote spheroidization and an increase in the thickness of the α-phase plates. 3. Thermal cyclic treatment with subsequent annealing leads to an increase in the plasticity and impact strength of VT22 alloy with an original coarse grained structure.
