Abstract

1. The most logical carbon content of secondary-hardening die steels of the Kh2MNF type is 0.5%, which leads to high heat resistance (600–620°) in combination with good strength (σb=145–150 kg/mm2) and toughness (an=3.5–5.0 kg-m/cm2) through the section of forgings up to 500×500 mm in section. 2. Steel 5Kh2MNF is recommended for large heavily loaded pressing and drop forging dies.
