Abstract

A simple technique based on Ulitovsky method (Taylor method) for preparing glass coated thin wires was used. The diameter (O) of the quenched wires amounted to about 1–20µm. The structure of thin wire was examined by transmission electron microscope and differential thermal analysis. All wire samples were examined by X-RAY diffraction using the Debye-Sherrer method. The filament of 1–20 µm in diameter has a tensile strength of 5. 109 Pa. Our measurements of Hc in the amorphous wires gave values in the range of 0,01 to 10 0e.
