Abstract

The 7xxx series aluminum alloys are good materials in terms of their high strength to density ratio. Their plastic processing is, however, troublesome. In order to perform plastic processing of the AA-7075 alloy, the KOBO method was applied allowing severe plastic deformations at small extruding forces. The half products, obtained in this way, are characterized by very good mechanical properties. This paper presents the results of investigations of the 7075 aluminum alloy processed (extruded) in different variants by the KOBO method. Structural tests have been performed using EBSD along with X-ray diffraction analysis and an analysis of the mechanical properties. As a supplement, corrosion tests have been carried out in two chemical solutions.
