Abstract

A cup winding permanent magnet synchronous machine(PMSM) is proposed in the application of large capacity energy storage flywheel (FESS), which can effectively improve the efficiency of the FESS and reduce the axial height of the flywheel. Firstly, the structure of the whole flywheel system and the cup winding PMSM are given. Secondly, the preliminary design scheme of the machine is obtained, and the effect of changing each parameter on the machine performance is analyzed. On this basis, a new optimization strategy combining BP-ANNs, GA and multi-objective PSO algorithm is proposed to optimize the efficiency and volume characteristics of the machine, and the results of the optimization are compared with the preliminary scheme to verify the correctness of the optimization method.
