Abstract

Materials with increased strength and heat resistance ― eutectic alloys with oriented phases ― acquire oriented crystallization. Classed among these alloys are nickel eutectic alloys with γ/γ'-MC and γ/γ'-α structures, where γ is the nickel solid solution, γ' is the disperse segregations of Ni 3 Al-base phases, MC and α are the fibers (single filamentary crystals) based on niobium or tantalum monocarbides, and the molybdenum solid solution, respectively. The purpose of this study is to investigate the microstructure and its effect on the melting point of oriented γ/γ'-NbC and γ/γ'-α(Mo) eutectics
