Abstract

A short overview about the application of NMR in a colloidal system is given. Results from standard solid state NMR measurements in telechelic fluorocarbon polymer systems and in polymer films made of latex dispersions are presented. The self-organisation process of the fluorocarbon polymer in solution is studied with 19F-NMR. We find an increase of the critical aggregation concentration (cac) with increasing temperature for the non-ionic polymer system. Secondly the phase behaviour of polymer and surfactant in latex films is analysed by 1H-NMR. A phase separation between the poly(vinyl acetate) and the PEO surfactant is found.
