Abstract

Structural information on high-temperature ionic melts YbCl3–MCl (M = K, Cs) was generated in situ using Raman spectroscopy. Force constants of Yb –Cl bonds and orientational relaxation times of $$ YbC{l}_6^{3-} $$ complex ions were calculated. Empirical equations describing the correlation between $$ YbC{l}_6^{3-} $$ dynamic behavior and the conductivity of the studied melts were obtained.
