Abstract
Recent advances have been made in our understanding of the relationship between the atomistic structure of silicate melts and how time-dependent changes in structure are related to transport properties and the rate of change of thermodynamic properties. In situ, element specific experimental techniques, in particular nuclear magnetic resonance, that can probe local structure in liquid and glass have been crucial in relating melt dynamics of glass structure.
