Abstract

In the current work, the authors discuss a method, which can be used for coupling of thermo-mechanical and optical simulation (also known as structural, thermal, and optical performance analysis or STOP). We present the thermo-mechanical simulation conducted on a reduced complexity module of an automotive LiDAR and how the results are then transferred to the optical simulation using an easy-to-handle method, which takes the 1 st order aberrations into account. The results of the simulations in ANSYS Mechanical and Zemax OpticStudio are then illustrated and discussed.
